Hey everyone, welcome back to my vehicles blog. Today I wanted to talk more about bicycles, specifically ones made by a company named Surly. Surly is a brand known for making stranger bikes, and their newest addition to the company lineup is no different. The Big Fat Dummy is a combination of cargo and fat bikes and the best attributes of both styles mash up together beautifully. This isn’t just a Big Dummy with fat tires though, the frame has been redesigned to be stiffer and have better handling. The new bike will be able to fit a 26 by 5.25 tire according to Surly, which is the biggest on the market at this point. However the stock wheels are 3.8 which means that you will have to make some changes to the chain line as well. This means that the rear axle has to be stretched, and can use up a 190 x 10 QR or a 197 x 12 thru axles. This new bike also features a slacker head tube angle compare to the Big Dummy, making it the ultimate trail bike.
How Big Is It?
The actual bike size you ask? We don’t know for sure yet, but we do know that it will be more than 7 feet long and weigh upwards of 50 pounds. You can also weigh it down with up to 400 pounds between cargo and rider, meaning this thing can weigh 450 pounds when you are trail blazing.
Does this seem like you kind of bike? Surly will be releasing it soon, so make sure to be on the lookout for these monsters to appear at your local bike shop. I hope you guys enjoyed this article, if so then please come on back next week for something entirely new! Have a great day y’all!
